My name is Vadym Malyshkevych. In April 2017, I completed the TESOL MA program at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, with a master's degree.
I was born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine (formerly, Soviet Union). After many years of self-study and getting experience as a self-employed translator, I was privileged to study English and learn of the ways of teaching this wonderful language to speakers of other languages at Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. So far, I taught Reading, Listening and Speaking, and Writing in classes that were rated, according to the ACTFL scale, as Intermediate Low, Intermediate Mid, Intermediate High, and Advanced Low. I did it for four full semesters (2015-2017) at the English Language Center of BYU. I enjoy working with students and help them improve their language skills, especially their listening and speaking abilities. I enjoy riding my bike and listening to good music. Sometimes I am engaged in the two hobbies simultaneously. My headphones are semi-open, which lets you hear your surroundings and makes such dualistic activity relatively safe. My hope is that I will not end up under the wheels of a big track while listening to the beginning of the 1st movement of the Fifth of Beethoven. |
